Dreamy Spa in Issaquah

By: Bella Evans

Creating your dream bathroom can be intimidating, confusing and overwhelming. There are so many options when it comes to tile, layout, fixtures, flooring, you name it. Emily Wold, designer, architect and owner of Belle Design + Build has helped refine and plan this master bath space to be everything her client wanted and more.

The client was looking for a low maintenance space that was easy to clean but also included their must-haves: heated floors and a large shower with bench seating. Emily created a space plan that accounted for each of those things, while bringing together different tones of gray and white to give the space a glamorous feeling. The tile used on the shower walls is Glamour White Brilliant by Florida Tile with an accent tile of Lunada Bay Bari Martini Matte by United Tile, and a flooring tile of Ankara Gray by Surface Art. Emily and her client worked with one another to bring each tile together in a cohesive way, arranging and rearranging until they were finally able to create this beautiful bathroom oasis.

Another big focus was the vanity, which was brought up to a “comfort” height of 36” rather than the standard 32” vanity. This allows for easier usage and reach of the sink, without having to bend over or reach. The cabinets used for the vanity are Bellmont 1900 series, Alderwood Concord style doors and drawer with a Folkstone finish. These cabinets include eased edges on the sides of the doors, drawers, and the center panel to bring the look full circle. The countertops used for the vanity are Pental Misterio, which was also used as the backsplash and the bench in the shower.

Overall, Emily loved bringing her two professions together in this space, and loved working alongside her client to find the absolute best fit that they could for the space. Emily says the way she likes to work with her clients is by working with them, not for them, after all, it is their space, their style, and most importantly, their home.
