Elegant Office for a Family of 5

Have you ever looked at your office space and thought...wow...this looks like a monster of a mess and I have nowhere to put anything? I know I have many times, especially these days, when work and school from home are more prevalent than they have ever been. BUT, there is a solution to that problem, inset cabinetry! Inset cabinetry is where the door of the cabinet sits inside of the box of the cabinet, which creates a flush and seamless look to the space. In this particular office, this was achieved by working with Crystal Cabinet Company, using their Keyline inset cabinetry.

Cathy Lewis, lead designer for Lewis Construction Group, LLC created this custom home office space for her clients Jackie and Colt, who are both working from home while raising three young kids. The family was in desperate need of an office revamp in order to have a space that is welcoming to both the adults as well as the kids. One way Cathy accomplished this was by creating a kids side and an adults side so that everything was separately compartmentalized.

A big goal for this project was to conceal every cord that existed in the area. Everything from the computer cords to the undercabinet lighting wires were all successfully hidden, creating a strong focus on the cabinetry itself rather than miscellaneous cables crowding the space. Cathy said her favorite part about this project was the challenge of creating custom cabinetry that would store all of the family’s office supplies, hide unwanted clutter and be beautiful all the while.
